NUST NET 2027

NET
Conducted byNational University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), Islamabad

NUST Entry Test (NET) — the admission test for BE/BS Engineering, Computing and other undergraduate programmes at NUST campuses (Islamabad, CEME, MCS, CAE, PNEC, MCE and others).

Purpose of the test

What NUST NET is for

NET is NUST’s own admission test and the single biggest factor in NUST merit: it carries 75% of the aggregate, with HSSC Part I at 15% and SSC at 10%. It is used for every NUST undergraduate engineering and computing seat across its schools and colleges.

NUST runs NET in four series per admission cycle. You may sit as many series as you like, each with its own registration and fee, and your best score is the one used. Students with SAT or ACT scores can apply on that basis instead.

Accepted for

  • All NUST engineering & computing programmes
  • NUST schools and constituent colleges (CEME, MCS, CAE, PNEC, MCE, SEECS, SMME…)
  • Best score across NET-1 to NET-4 counts

Test centres: Islamabad (CBNET) + Karachi, Quetta, Gilgit (PBNET)

NET is pitched at the top end of FSc. Half the paper is Mathematics, and Calculus, Trigonometry and analytic geometry decide most ranks. Questions are short but often need a trick or shortcut to finish inside the 54-second average, and there is no calculator. Physics is concept-heavy with light numericals, and English tests vocabulary, grammar and comprehension.

Scoring higher

Skills that lift your NUST NET score

SKILL 01

Calculus without a calculator

Limits, derivatives and integrals are the core of the paper. Know standard results so you can answer in one line.

SKILL 02

Shortcuts and elimination

Many NET MCQs can be solved by testing options or checking units. Practise answering without full working.

SKILL 03

Pace: 54 seconds a question

200 questions in 180 minutes. Do a fast first pass and return to flagged items.

SKILL 04

Physics concepts over numbers

Know why, not just how: graphs, proportionality and limiting cases appear often.

SKILL 05

Vocabulary in context

English rewards a wide vocabulary and quick reading. Ten new words a day for eight weeks adds up.

SKILL 06

Use multiple series

Sit NET-1 early as a real-condition trial, then improve in later series. Only the best score counts.

Learning curve

Your 10-week path to 80%+

The dashed line is the target curve for an hour a day. Your own diagnostic, sectional and mock scores on this device plot on top of it, so you can see whether you are ahead or behind.

Prep & mock test series

Work through the stages in order. Each mock uses its own questions, so a score from mock 3 is a fresh measurement, not a memory test.
