GIKI Admission Test 2027

GIK
Conducted byGhulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences & Technology (GIKI), Topi, Swabi

GIKI Undergraduate Admission Test — the admission test for BS Engineering and Computing at GIKI (AI, Computer Engineering, CS, Data Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil and others).

Purpose of the test

What GIKI Admission Test is for

GIKI conducts its own computer-based admission test for all of its undergraduate engineering and computing programmes. It is the heaviest-weighted entry test in Pakistan: the test carries 85% of GIKI merit, with HSSC Part I at 10% and SSC at 5%.

There is one sitting per cycle, so preparation has to peak on a single date. GIKI is fully residential and shortlisted candidates are called for interview before final admission.

Accepted for

  • All GIKI BS engineering programmes
  • All GIKI BS computing programmes (AI, CS, DS, SE, CyS)
  • Merit: 85% test, 10% HSSC-I, 5% SSC

Test centres: Topi + national test centres

With only 80 questions in about two hours, GIKI gives you 90 seconds a question, the most of any engineering test. The questions use that time: Physics carries the same weight as Mathematics and leans on multi-step mechanics and electricity problems. English is a full quarter of the paper.

Scoring higher

Skills that lift your GIKI Test score

SKILL 01

Multi-step Physics

Mechanics, electrostatics and circuits problems often chain two or three ideas. Practise full solutions, not just recall.

SKILL 02

Use the extra time well

90 seconds a question means fewer gimmes. Check each answer once before moving on.

SKILL 03

English is 25%

Reading comprehension and vocabulary can swing your rank. Do one passage a day.

SKILL 04

Peak on one date

There is only one sitting, so schedule your last full mocks in the final two weeks.

SKILL 05

Skip Chemistry for GIKI

Spend that time on Physics and English instead.

SKILL 06

Interview readiness

Be ready to talk about why engineering and why GIKI.
