NUMS MDCAT 2027
NUMS Medical & Dental College Admission Test — the admission test for MBBS & BDS at NUMS constituent and affiliated colleges and all Armed Forces medical & dental colleges (Army Medical College, CMH colleges and others).
What NUMS MDCAT is for
NUMS MDCAT is a separate entrance test run by the National University of Medical Sciences. It is mandatory for every MBBS and BDS seat in NUMS constituent and affiliated colleges and in all medical and dental colleges administered by the Armed Forces, such as Army Medical College and the CMH medical colleges.
The national PMDC MDCAT does not replace it: students aiming for these colleges sit both tests. NUMS MDCAT has an added psychological assessment, and the result is valid only for the session it was held for.

In 2026 NUMS opened registration on 18 May, closed on 22 June (late fee to 21 July) and held the test on 13 September. Expect a similar calendar in 2027. Always confirm on numspak.edu.pk before you register or pay.

Test pattern & marking
The 150 subject MCQs follow the same FSc Pre-Medical syllabus as PMDC MDCAT, but NUMS questions lean slightly more towards application and two-step reasoning. The 50-item psychological assessment is not a knowledge test: answer honestly and consistently, because inconsistent answers are flagged.

NUMS MDCAT FAQ
Is NUMS MDCAT different from PMDC MDCAT?
Yes. It is a separate test run by NUMS and is compulsory for NUMS and all Armed Forces medical and dental colleges. PMDC MDCAT alone is not enough for those colleges.
How many MCQs are in NUMS MDCAT?

Is there negative marking in NUMS MDCAT?
